Create A Collage for Weight Loss
Do you usually have some old magazines and catalogs laying around your house? If that is so here is a fun project that can skyrocket your weight control and provide a valuable purpose for all those old publications.
Buy a piece of strong poster board at the store. Most stores that carry art and craft supplies will have it. Also get a glue stick, scissors, and some colored markers if you do not already have them.
Then go thru all of the catalogs and mags and cut out any photographs that are uplifting to you. You might cut out photos of slim models wearing clothing you would like to wear, or shots of healthy-looking folks having a great time in various recreational pursuits. You may even cut out photos of objects you want to have one day like sports cars, purses, nice houses, travel opportunities, and so on.
Then take a pleasant image of your face and have photocopies made at your local printer, or print them out at home. Don't be concerned if the quality isn't great; the main thing is that you can recognize yourself.
Spend a great afternoon creating a collage of all these images, and paste your own face over any model faces. So your face will be on a beautiful body wearing a fancy evening robe, a skimpy bathing suit, driving a sports car, jogging, taking a cruise, peeking out of the window of your perfect home, or anything else that appeals to you.
Yes, it sounds funny, and it's supposed to! This creative project will have you laughing all of the time you work on it. And each time you look at this collage from this point on, you will not be able to help but giggle and feel really good.
But there's another reason that explains why this exercise is so powerful. You've probably heard about a strategy called "visualization" and how it can help with weight reduction or any other goal. Well, this type of collage is a form of visualization! As you look at your own face on a pretty body, you can't help but imagine how it would feel to have that body as your own. And the more you do this, the more your mind starts to lean in that way and influence your current body.
That doesn't suggest your own body will magically morph into a model's body, but you will begin to see yourself differently, which should inspire different actions. And over the course of time those actions will create the result you have been seeing in your mind.
